Cafe West is located in downtown Trenton & has been serving the downriver area since May, 2003. Cafe West specializes in fresh saltwater fish and seafood, including oysters & conch chowder. We also have a nice selection of chicken, steak, wild game & entree salads. In addition to our regular menu, Cafe West also offers daily specials & a nice dessert tray. How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We felt that downriver needed a nice yet casual restaurant that specializes in fresh saltwater fish & seafood. Blake was a chef at the Omni, Detroit in the 80's. He was the operator of Elba Mar Boat Club and the Ford Yacht Club food service in the late-80's & early 90's. Blake was the Executive Chef at the Sheraton-Westgate in Toledo, Ohio. Blake has also worked in Florida at Prawnbroker as a chef.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our food is the best quality and our service is outstanding. We take pride in every little detail at Cafe West. We feel consistency is very important and strive for perfection every day.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have only one location. We would like to expand our restaurant to provide more outside dining for the summer months.

Take I-75 to West Road Exit and head East towards Jefferson. Cafe West is at the northeast corner of West Jefferson and West Road.

Blake & Sandy Harte own Cafe West and run daily operations along with Vanessa Galarza, a manager who has been with us since the day we opened in May, 2003.
